Hot Springs |

Austin is a nice spring. The
best soaks are across the river from the main soaks. I think Austin is now
for sale. On the weekends, Austin fills up with 'white trash' soaker beware.
The pools are shallow and its best to keep your suit on unless you skip
across the river to the more secluded soaks. |
| Bagby
Hot Springs |

I wasn't too
impressed with Bagby. First you have to pay to see it and second, it was
all individual tubs with long lines to soak, althuoogh there was a communal
bath house. I dunno, didn't do it for me. |
| Bigelo
Hot Spring |
 |
 |
Bigelo used to be
my favorite spring of all time. That's me in the photo. It seems that the
spring keeps getting cooler, every year. Maybe its just me, but its too
cool to soak now... |

| Cougar
Hot Spring |
 |
I never got
to use Cougar before it became popular, but I did get to visit the spring,
and I must say, it has quite the flow. It is a nice spring, really, many
nice soaking pools. I wasn't too impressed with the hippies bathing, but
the view and the wtaer made it worth it. I think the fee was $3. |

This was a different spring.
It was really shallow, just barley deeper than my thighs and the hot water
surged and while normally this wouldnt be so bad, except tat the hot water
didn't like mixing with the cold water, so every so often you would get
a scalding rush that you would have to stir quickly in order to not burn.

Forks Warm Springs |
 |
 |
This
spring is more warm than hot, but it is among my favorites. The water was
maybe 97°, but that was okay because the air was 100°! A huge flow
of warm water drops into three really deep pools. They are accessed by crossing
a stream that is probably inaccessable during spring run off. The drive
is fairly hairy also. We made it in our 4x4, but I would have rather been
on a quad. Anyway, we soaked for many, many hours. I intend to return. |

| Umpqua
Hot Springs |

I really liked this
spring. The hike was brief but had a decent little incline to it.
The water seemed really basic (low pH). The covered roof was nice, b ut
oevrall the pool was a bit small, although probably the best soak
on the highway, overall. |

Now I used
to have a photo of this spring. We didn't soak because it was a tad bit
cool, and Umpqua was close. |
| Junctura
Hot Spring |

We never made it to this one
because the stream was moving too fast. It's hard to see in the photo, but
past the stream is the soak. |
| i forgot the
name of this other pay spring |
